Beta Terms of Use & Privacy Notice
1. Nature of the Beta Platform
Welcome to the beta test version of MathMastery (the "Beta Platform"). The Beta Platform is a temporary, free-to-try educational environment designed strictly for system optimization, algorithmic calibration, and user interface testing. These Beta Terms govern your access. By registering, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself or the student utilizing the system.
2. Absolute Anonymity & Zero Personal Data Collection
To ensure absolute compliance with data protection laws prior to our official launch, the Beta Platform operates on a Zero Personal Data Architecture.
- No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect, request, or store names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, or payment credentials.
- Credentials: Registration is executed solely by the system generating a random, non-identifiable 6-digit PIN and asking you to provide any two letters of your choice (e.g., "A" and "B") purely to distinguish the session.
- No Parental Verification Required (Beta Only): Because the system cannot identify, contact, or profile any individual child, the statutory Verifiable Parental Consent (VPC) mechanisms required under Section 33 of the Kenya Data Protection Act are not active during this period. No contact loops are initiated.
3. Algorithmic Processing & Calibration Disclaimer
The Beta Platform utilizes predictive mathematics structures, specifically Bayesian Knowledge Tracing (BKT) and Spaced Repetition, to deliver adaptive tutoring pathways and AI Mentor hints.
- By checking the consent box at registration, you expressly acknowledge and agree that these automated systems process your session's question inputs and response metrics solely to dynamically adjust math difficulty.
- This performance tracking is tied strictly to your anonymous 6-digit PIN and is never used to construct behavioral profiles of real-world individuals.
4. Post-Beta Transition and Data Migration Options
Upon the conclusion of the 14-day beta window and the approval of our official regulatory registration, the Beta Platform will close, and the live production version of MathMastery will launch. At that specific transition point:
- The Transition Prompt: When you attempt to sign in with your 6-digit beta PIN, you will be prompted to create a permanent, lawful account, which will require full registration and the execution of the mandatory double opt-in Parent/Guardian Verifiable Parental Consent (VPC) loop.
- Option A (Opt-In Migration): If the Parent/Guardian completes the live registration and explicitly chooses to migrate the student's beta progress, the anonymous historical math data will be linked to the new profile. At this exact millisecond, the data becomes classified as Personal Data and falls under our primary Privacy Policy.
- Option B (No Migration / Abandonment): If you choose not to migrate the data, or if the account is abandoned, all historical performance records tied to that anonymous 6-digit PIN will be permanently and irreversibly purged from our databases within 30 to 60 days of the beta closing.
5. Limitation of Liability & Educational Disclaimer
The Beta Platform is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. The AI Mentor is powered by probabilistic Large Language Models and may occasionally output mathematical anomalies or factual inconsistencies ("hallucinations"). MathMastery offers no warranties regarding student performance on upcoming standardized examinations (such as KPSEA, KCSE, or IGCSE). Because this is a free, anonymous system testing phase, MathMastery, its operators, and infrastructure providers bear zero financial liability for data loss, system downtime, or academic outcomes.
